Info Post
When decorating a space, I love to add personal touches that really make it feel like "home." Since we recently moved our boys to a new house in a new state, I wanted to make sure their bedroom felt special and comforting to them.

Almost every night I sing lullabies to the boys, and there is one song in particular that has grown to be their favorite. It's called Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) by the Dixie Chicks. I thought it would be sweet to somehow add the lyrics of the song to their room, and I instantly thought of the perfect way to incorporate their favorite lullaby.

Pillows!
Each boy now has a hand-made pillow printed with Mommy's hand-written lullaby lyrics. I am so in love with how these sweet pillows turned out, and my boys have snuggled them tightly every night since I've made them.

Here's how I did it:

Start with a light colored pillow case. (You can follow {THIS} Envelope Pillow Cover Tutorial if you need to re-cover a pillow!)

Slide a piece of cardboard in the pillow case so you'll have a flat surface to write on.

Use painter's tape as a guide to keep your lyrics straight and evenly spaced. Place a small strip of tape in between each long strip for consistent spacing.

Once you've finished taping the front of the pillow, remove the small strips of tape where you'll write your lyrics.

Use a fine tip Sharpie to carefully hand write the lyrics of your song. I recommend practicing on a sheet of paper first to find the size and style you want to use on your pillow.

When you're done with the lyrics you can remove the tape and stuff your pillow in the case.

This is one of my favorite parts of the song:
"God bless Mommy and Matchbox cars."

Seriously, how cute is that??

And here's the pillow I recovered for the Envelope Pillow Cover Tutorial with the lullaby lyric pillow.

This is hands down my favorite project I've completed for their bedroom so far! Now they have a special piece of Mommy where ever they go.

I can already picture them dragging it to college with them when they leave the nest...
: )

What lullaby do you sing to your babies?
