Info Post
Welcome back to the 12 Crafty Days of Christmas!

Today I have an adorable ornament to share with you, that you can make for just a few pennies using a few simple supplies:

I saw these in Better Homes and Garden's Holiday Crafts magazine, and knew they would work perfectly with my winter woodland theme!

Supplies
ivory felt (1 sheet per pinecone)
wooden skewer
hot glue gun and glue sticks
small ribbon

I started by tracing 3 patterns from the magazine onto cardstock.

You can easily freehand the patterns using these measurements from tip to tip:
Pattern A - 1 1/2 inches
Pattern B - 1 3/4 inches
Pattern C - 2 1/8 inches

This photo shows you the cut-out cardstock patterns in relation to a quarter.

Use your cardstock pattern to cut out the following from your felt:
6 of Pattern A
8 of Pattern B
12 of Pattern C

{TIP} Use a water-soluble marker to trace onto your felt or make sure to cut inside your tracing line so you won't see pen on your finished ornament

Thread the felt pieces onto your skewer in the following order:
(starting at the top of your ornament)
one - A
three - B
twelve - C
five - B
five - A

Shift layers to stagger curved edges and secure with glue between layers.

Trim off the excess skewer on top and bottom. Pinch bottom felt layers together around skewer and secure with glue.

Trace around a nickel onto a felt scrap and cut out circle. Poke a hole in the center.

Cut two 6 inch lengths of ribbon and thread an end of each ribbon through the hole in the felt circle. Tie ends together.

Tie the opposite ribbon ends together and trim any excess ribbon.

Glue the felt circle onto the top of the pinecone.

And hang on your tree!

Doesn't it look perfect next to my Pinecone Gnome Ornament?

Since I already had the hot glue and wooden skewers, all I had to purchase for this project was felt and ribbon.
My total cost for one ornament: 36 cents!!

Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure to come back tomorrow for more Christmas fun!
