This week I finally pulled out all my Fall decorations! I try to wait until after my son's birthday each year to get everything out, so after seeing all the amazing Fall and Halloween projects in blogland lately, I was very anxious!

I decided this year I would do some new Fall decorations that would go better with our new house. Since I'm on a budget, the first place I headed was Dollar Tree. My son instantly found this plastic skull and HAD to have it:

I decided this year I would do some new Fall decorations that would go better with our new house. Since I'm on a budget, the first place I headed was Dollar Tree. My son instantly found this plastic skull and HAD to have it:
The creepy, smiling, skull made its way into our cart along with a few other spooky Halloween items that I'll share with you the rest of the week!
I'm not huge into decorating for Halloween and I HATE scary movies... in fact, you'll be on watch duty for monsters and murderers while I sleep for the next month if you make me watch one! So I decided rather than adding some blood and cobwebs to my skull, I would glam him up with lots and lots of glitter!
I started by spray painting him a glossy black. Probably not necessary, but I didn't want to see any of the white skull behind the glitter.
Once the paint was dry, I grabbed good ol' Elmer's glue and brushed it on the skull with a small foam brush.
I started at the back of the skull and worked in sections.
I sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter in onyx to completely cover the glue.
Once he was all glittered up, I shook off the excess glitter and took him outside for a protective clear coat.
Now this is MY kind of Halloween... Glitter and Glam!
He looks gorgeous on my Halloween Mantel (that I'll reveal that next Monday!), and only cost me $1. You just can't beat that!
Do you decorate for Halloween?
