I LOVE making handmade cards for people. Is there any better feeling in the world than opening your mailbox to find a handwritten letter or card? It's so rare anymore in today's world of email, texting, and facebook. I think making cards is such a special and personal way to show people you're thinking about them.
This is a card I made for my husband recently.
Jeremy played piano for many years growing up and still has some sheet music laying around the house. I found a song with sweet lyrics and turned it into the background of this card.
I inked up the edges a bit, made a heart-shaped cut-out and wrote "you are the song in my heart." I wrapped around a red and white striped ribbon and added a little ribbon flower.
It was pretty easy to do, and my husband loved it so much, he made sure we put it away in our memory box. (I'll post more on that later.) If you've never made a card before, I highly recommend it. Don't pay $3, $4, sometimes $8 on a card from the store. You don't need super fancy tools or gadgets (though they can make it more fun!), just some basics and inspiration!
Here is where I link up to some great parties!
